If your current ice maker is not functioning properly, replacing this part may alleviate the issue. This part is designed to be used with select Kitchen Aid French-door refrigerators; check to see if your model number is compatible. Installing the part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the refrigerator and novice repair experience. You must unplug the refrigerator or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part.
